Not only will leading an active lifestyle help you feel better, both mentally and physically, it will reduce your risk of developing serious conditions like cardiovascular disease, type-2 diabetes, dementia, depression, and some cancers. What’s more, being active everyday in a way that works for you can help reduce pain and improve recovery from musculoskeletal issues alongside your rehabilitation.
Multidimensional Physical Activity
There are different ways to harness the protective properties of physical activity because it has multiple independent biologically-important dimensions. Focusing on one dimension alone, like the number of steps you take, creates a danger of developing a false picture of activity.
